The fifth and sixth multi-grade class, with the guidance of their teacher Rosaura Farfan, have been studying the history of writing. On March 10th, the students took a field trip to the cave paintings in the community of Chawaytire.
Chawaytire is located about 45 minutes from the town of Pisac. Along the way, the different ecological zones in the Andean region can be observed. In Chawaytire there are historic rock paintings dating back seven thousand years. In this area there is archaeological evidence of various groups that expressed their culture and way of life through artistic expression.
The boys and girls of Kusi Kawsay were delighted to have this experience and ended their trip by drawing like their ancient ancestors of Pisac. In Kusi Kawsay, we are convinced that education must include experiential learning.
