Pro Humanus is a Waldorf oriented nonprofit organization that since 2004 has been supporting education in underdeveloped areas of the Andes. For the last three years, Pro Humanus has provided teacher training for Kusi Kawsay. They visit the school three times a year. This experience has been enriching for the entire educational community of Kusi Kawsay. Not only is the pedagogical Waldorf knowledge of our mentor Rudolf Steiner taught, but also the deeper nature of man is shared and understood: that to educate we must know and learn the depth of children at all stages. As Steiner states: “Nature makes of man merely a natural being; society makes of him a law-abiding being; only he himself can make of himself a free man.”
Thank you very much Bettina Vielmetter, Lyggia Chujutalli Chong and Rocio Garcia Hart, our great teachers from Pro Humanus.
Furthermore, for the last two years, we have been welcoming the Yanapanakusun Centre from nearby Accha. The Yanapanakusun Centre has similar goals as Kusi Kawsay. We have been providing an internship program at our school Kusi Kawsay for them. The Yanapanakusun Centre and Kusi Kawsay both have the dream of a transformed society through transformed education that is shared by more and more organizations and individuals.
